My name is Gabe Newell

I am the CEO of a major company called valve

This company specialises in the making of video games

It has also created a platform for PC gamers to download and play games

This platform is called steam

Some of the games my company have created are:The Half Life series,Team Fortress 1 and 2 and the counter strike series

But I have made more

I am currently working on a new console called the steam machine

The steam machine will run on steam OS and each manufacturer will make it differently

Meaning that if one doesn't suit your needs another manufacturer may have the one for you

I worked for microsoft for thirteen years

I then left microsoft with a co-worker named Mike Harrington

Together we founded Valve and created valves first game, half life

In 2000 Mike left valve to be with his wife

I am married to Lisa Mennet

We have two sons

I once had Fuchs' dystrophy

This is a congenital disease which effects the cornea

But I was cured by two cornea transplants in 2006 and 2007
